Tropical v. Sidereal Astrology, by Tim Wilkerson

In the U.S.A. the commonly used astrology is called Tropical. This form turns the chart to match with the seasons. By doing this the stars which define the energy of each of the twelve zodiac signs are disavowed. Still, tropical astrology is useful for divining social interrelations and for understanding what others think they see in us.

Sidereal astrology, which is used here, is re-aligned to the stars that define the zodiac signs.  These are the real energies that are funneled in towards our planet Earth. They can be observed in Nature and in the lab. On a subtle level it can point to who we are on the inside. It reveals our strengths and our challenges from a personal view. It’s more about who we are by ourselves, than about our social life.

The two forms of astrology work well together. If I had to choose, I’d pick sidereal.
