After a long dry spell, without any Active days for the whole month of September, we have a dozen Active days in October. Look up which dates are best for starting new experiments (or events) and which days are good for specific lab processes.
A fiery day with a little bit of impulsive organizing. Figuring out what to do with this energy may take a helping of focused thinking to divert some of the more sensitive feelings you may be experiencing. You may feel some insecurity, it’s in the mix for Wednesday, just don’t let it become depression because it’s not you. Remember to breath through it.
Moon in Aries / changes persistent – emotionally aggressive
Lab process of Calcination:
The first operation in alchemical transformation. It is denoted by the symbol for the first sign of the zodiac. To intensely heat (as with inorganic materials) to a high temperature, but without fusion, in order to drive off volatile matter, or to effect changes (as oxidation or pulverization.) What remains is a fine dry powder. The breaking down of a substance by fierce heating and burning usually in an open crucible.
Somehow, feeling solid and yet relaxed can still make for some illogically impulsive behavior this weekend. Even so, it might be a good time to analyze your situation and do some organization. Emotions go deep and you could be over sensitive about them right now so trust your heart and watch your instincts. Full Moon Eclipse Sunday.
Moon in Pisces / changes relaxative – emotionally instinctive
Lab process of Projection
The final stage of Coagulation in which the power of transformation is directed toward a body; the final process in making gold, in which the Stone or powder Stone (the powder of projection) is tossed upon the molten base metal to transmute it.
The throwing of a ferment or tincture onto a substance in order to effect a transformation of the substance.
At first, on Friday, there’s a slight urge to teeter-totter from quick anger to being a fun-loving chick/dude magnet. Afterwards your feelings should open up and include some heightened degree of generosity. Don’t let yourself be duped though, analyze your situation and stay with being impartial. If you’re feeling a little insecure by Saturday night just keep pacing yourself and don’t let it get you worked up, you don’t have to prove anything.
Moon in Aquarius / changes concentrative – emotionally detached
Lab process of Multiplication
A process of Distillation in which the power of transmutation is concentrated; an increase in the amount of the Stone as obtained from its pristine form.
Depending on the weather this could be a good time to tend to the garden or yard. Otherwise the couch is also an option, potato-style. If you feel undignified about relaxing, watch a documentary or read a book. Watch for the middle road between the hectic highway and lazy gravel lanes.
Moon in Capricorn / changes retentive – emotionally reserved
Lab process of Fermentation:
The fifth operation in alchemical transformation is Fermentation.
The next couple of days remind me of riding a ten speed bike, heading towards and sweating my way over a hill, to coast down the other side: easily charming, to generally happy thoughts, to feeling intense about your ‘situation’, to wanting to be helpful. We’re half way to this months Full Moon.
Moon in Sagittarius / changes inspirational – emotionally idealistic
Lab process of Incineration:
The conversion of a substance to ashes by means of a powerful fire.
Saturday morning could bring some sexual vigor that will calm to a dull roar for the weekend. Try not to be too impulsive or showy about it and it could be a great weekend. Sit back, watch, enjoy and step in when your mind is clear and your breath is calm.
Moon in Scorpio / changes solidifying – emotionally possessive
Lab process of Separation
To separate a compound into unique substances. Leaching salts from ashes. Filtering solids from liquids. Pressing oils from solids.
The third operation in the alchemy of transformation. Symbols of Separation include swords, scythes, arrows, knives, and hatchets.
Get ready to settle into analyzing every little thing, impulsively. Remembering to drink enough water might calm the urge.
You may find it easier to think right now. It might also be a good time to pay more thought to what you’re doing instead of thinking about the past, or future. Watch for sudden urges of a firey nature, and just kind of check-in with yourself before you do anything; unless there’s an emergency of course.
Moon in Libra / changes unifying – emotionally refined
Lab process of Sublimation: (Distillation ended this morning – Wed.)
The first stage of Coagulation, in which the vapors solidify; represented by the sign for the constellation of Libra. The vaporization of a solid without fusion or melting, followed by the condensation of its vapor in the resolidified form on a cool surface. The elevation of a dry thing by fire, with adherency to its vessel.
To cause to pass off from the solid to the vapor state by heating, and again to condense into solid form.
This occurs when a solid is heated and gives off a vapour which condenses on the cool upper parts of the vessel as a solid, not going through a liquid phase. An example is sal ammoniac (Ammonium Chloride).
These days hold a fair opportunity to figure out in your head just what the bottom line is in your life as far as feelings go. This could show you which feeling are yours, which feelings are real, and which are solely someone else’s problem. Remember to breath if you get tense. A close New Moon starts Sunday, so what you start today could be finished by an eclipsing Full Moon the 27th.
Moon in Virgo / changes analytical – emotionally analytical
Lab process of Distillation:
The separation of a volatile component from a substance by heating so as to drive off the component as a vapor which is condensed and collected in a cooler part of the apparatus.
